i'm sorry, you just didn't make the cut....

I'm sure everyone's got these kinds of photos.
The outfits that
A: sounded good in your head but didn't translate to a actual, wearable outfit.
B: look awesome on.....inside your house but not really for the general public.
C: you love it, you wore it but you didn't feel fashion-y/trendy/stylie enough to post it in the world of fashion blogs.
D: the photos you took were just, plain crappy and unflattering but you're gutted cos you actually really liked the outfit you had on.
Here's one of my randoms that I cannot believe I'm actually going to post but figure I can't have an eternally edited blog.......so don't laugh (okay, laugh but with me not at me), don't judge (to my face but you can point and sledge me to your mates) and Fashion Gods, please forgive me!!!!

Winter white out!!!!
Thrifted knit, mens singlet as a dress, Just Jeans beanie, white tights and ankle boots.
This is just part 1. Trust me, there's a fair few more where these came from!!!!It kinda feels like a fashion blog faux pas to post this stuff, but it's like a cleansing ritual before 2010 to rid me of my outfit demons and start the new year with a clean slate.

the world is mine.....

1 more sleep peeps...then it's CHRISTMAS!!!! I cannot wait!!!!

We had our Christmas with Big R's family today since most of us are off tomorrow spending 16 hours in our cars travelling to different friends and familys places, to consume too much food, the
odd drinkie, swap gifts, hugs and well wishes in the remaining 8 hours of Christmas Day.

So, here's my Xmas Eve get up....my fave Kiwi label, World, blouse and my fave shoes, Acne Atacomas. I think I look Christmassy.....
Still contemplating whether to wear the same outfit tomorrow or not? Or perhaps I can come up with something better? Okay, I'm off to play dress-ups.
MERRY XMAS EVE EVERYONE!!!! Don't forget to put out cookies and milk...or if you're a Kiwi, a steak'n'cheese pie and a beer...for Santee Claus.

hoods and creepy winking bunnies....

Big R's band had their last gig on Friday for 2009, so, obviously, I had to wear one of my fave outfits.

The drapey silhouette is an obsession of mine at the moment.
And any chance to don my lace leggings and sequin shooties is A.O.K with me!!!

The little hood is a D.I.Y jersey knit circle scarf.

Everyone's got a bunny in their post lately-and I'm shit scared of 'em!-so here's my contribution to the phenomenon.....a little Kinder Surprise creepy winking bunny. You think I could pick one that doesn't reinforce my odd fear of bunnies-but never mind.

Rear view. Love the fact that drapey forms hide my wide load of a butt.
Shame I couldn't find something big enough that hides my mess of a room!

Considering Xmas is only 5 sleeps away and I'm going up North for a week or so, scheduled posts are on the cards...cos I doubt the camping grounds are a fashion mecca where platform booties are a requirement. So, hopefully they'll provide some entertainment.

red corset confessions.....

Got myself some new shoozies and couldn't wait to wear them......it's taken over week for me to get the chance, but well worth it! I love the fact they are open toe. I get excited that they are lace-up corset style. I'm over the moon that they are wedges. I'm proud they are a gorgeous, buttery soft leather in tomato red!
I'm prone to black, black and more black since I'm a bonafide kiwi girl....so trust me, this is a giant leap for my feet.

Breaking out my vintage brocade skinnies (again!) you have only seen them once before in this blog. Not so for poor Big R who gets to clap his lil' peepers on them about twice a week...if he's lucky.

back in black.....

School holidays + 2 teen siblings=broke-a-rama!....and the need of a good sleep! Man alive, I feel like a zombie with an empty wallet. Went back to my staple kiwi colour palette of black this past week since I just don't have the energy to try and summer-fy myself with a colour ensemble. Plus, when I do try, my lil sis is all..."Are you wearing that?" Hey, she's 14 and is a twi-hard (Go Team Jacob!) and fashion to her right now is skinny jeans, canvas shoes and a stripy racer back. God forbid if she's seen with me in other than the same in front of her friends. My lil bro on the other hand doesn't care what I wear as long as I'm not seen at all by his mates..."Just drop me off down the road, I'll walk up."

Stupid of me to think I could wear whatever the hell I like since I'm the one funding their little outings like an ATM machine.....

My fave bag...William Phillips Cammay Tote.....

ANTM comes to NZ.....

Cannot believe the the honourable Miss Jay is in Aucks.....
SO EXCITED!!!! Not that I'd ever get the chance to meet anyone from ANTM but just knowing they are in/on their way to our BIG Little City is awesome enough for me.

How I love this classic Miss Jay facial expression....a million words, a ca-zillion feelings...one face.

in a rush.......

I hate being rushed. Big R hates waiting. Hmmm, seems we have a little incompatibility here. Honestly, I try to plan ahead. The night before we're going somewhere, I lie in bed running through little outfit possibilities-and might I add that this can lead to some sleepless nights?-just so I can make the dressing process the day of event, a bit less painful for Big R.

But it just never turns out that way.

Even if I start getting ready a couple of hours early, I end up drowning in a sea of shoes, clambering over a mountain of discarded garments and crazily searching every nook and cranny of my closet/drawers/floors/boxes/bags/under the bed for missing accessories that would 'be perfect for this outfit.'

Not only that, I start with dreamed up outfit and end up disliking or disheartened by the actual result. Then, the second guessing starts and this is the part that Big R dreads and tries to sneak off. I pummel him with "What do you think?", "Which do you like better? The white or the black?" You know, the gammut of loaded questions, where no matter what answer I get, it's never what I wanted to hear. Big R actually likened it to 'Running The Gauntlet'...poor guy.

So, here I am. Pretty much being chased out the door with threats of being left behind.

Literally, in a rush.

Little side note: I was recently on Fashion By He, pretty much bagging white boots. Yes, I am a hypocritical blogger and no doubt will get the telling off of the century by He....oh man, brace myself.....please don't be too cruel!

One cool thing, I got to wear my vintage Burberry Harris Tweed Blazer! Picked this little puppy up for pretty much a wrapped sweet and pocket lint from Save Mart on the North Shore....SCORE!!!
