The one outfit Big R gets a chance to snap on our "holiday" without family crowding in and "saying cheese" is one of my freaking "go-to's" (*perform maniacal finger accentuating quote-y movements*) ....and I'm sans make-up....
....or any desire to have my picture taken.
Big R's family are....intense. Full-on. Constantly in motion. Over-sharers. Lovely people, but....intense. Mine are...private. Low-key. Shy. Backgrounders. So, I was overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of people and photo-taking and hello-nice-to-meet-you's and en masse verbal tangling of everyone talking to you from all angles allatonce.
So the day we escaped...literally, we snuck off before breakfast without a word ...was a much needed break from all the intensity.
In the frantic, spontaneous act of disappearance, I dressed as only one in a hurried quiet can.....in a "go-to" which was appropriate for Underwater World where we ended up but hardly blog worthy.
But I scored this tacky, plastic 'Manta Ray' ring for $2AU and I LOVE it. A little intense, a little low-key. Perfect reminder.
